Point Nepean on the Mornington Penninsula is one of Victoria's naturally beautiful landscapes. There is so much to discover and see with it's rich hostory that played an important role in the early settlement, quarantine and defence of Victoria.
It is located at the very tip of the Mornington Penninsula with amazing coastal scenery, and panaramic scenery of Port Phillip Bay, Bass Strait and the Rip.
There are military forts and tunnels to explore and the historic quarantine station. It is a photographers paradise with interesting subjects around every corner.
Here are the remains of the Cattle Pier surrounded by drift wood on a beautiful beach that leads to Port Phillip Heads. I also bumped into the local Echidna who casually walked along the side of the road.
