Thanks to Tyrell PR @tyrrell_pr for featuring my Flinders Street Station image on Instagram to let everyone know about the up coming makeover of our historic landmark. Major Projects Victoria are restoring Flinders Street Station to its former glory - and that means they will be bringing back its original colours from the 1900s. It is a subtle difference that means a slight change in colour tones which are not as bright as the current colours.
Flinders Street has been painted five times since the early 1900s. Determining the original colours required forensic analysis to peel back the layers and find the original paint. The repainting with happen in sections, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. I am looking forward to seeing our station looking her best again.
