Wow what a sunset tonight at No.16 Beach, Rye. I had a feeling it was going to go off, and I got there just in time after going out for an early dinner. What a colourful backdrop behind the Lizard Rock.
Calcarious sandstone cliffs tower above this popular beach which is named after the 16th point on the 11km Lifesaving Track, constructed in the 1890s to provide better access to the coast after two devastating shipwrecks.
When you walk along the beach around the headland towards Rye you will see the Lizard Head rock formation.
