The Catalyst Gourmet Toastie Van drew a crowd at Melton Special School on the last day of the school term. Uniting School Leaver Employment Support participants were on board to gain real work skills that will help prepare them for a job.
Catalyst Training is a Registered Training Organisation that delivers accredited training to adults with an intellectual disability. Their Gourmet Toastie van gives students the opportunity to put their Work Education training into practice in a real work situation preparing and selling gourmet toasted sandwiches.
The students work along side staff with experience in the hospitality sector who are passionate about good quality food and food presentation. It gives the students real life work experience to help them build up their work skills for future employment.
