Farewell to a local landmark the Ivanhoe Library due to be demolished any day now. She has been my neighbour for over 25 years and in the past week I have noticed the amazing crystal clear reflections of the sky and the nearby gum trees in her floor to ceiling windows like never before.
She is surrounded by temporary fencing in preparation for her demise, so it was a battle to try and capture her at her best, bathed in the golden hour light tonight.
I keep hearing Joni Mitchell singing :
“Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got
‘Til it’s gone
They paved paradise
Put up a parking lot.”
