Good Bye 2020 and hello 2021

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

On the last day of 2020 it is time to reflect on the year that was. It was a year like no other with lots of challenges, although in many ways I feel lucky because I was not affected by it as much as some.

I continued to work throughout both shutdowns, it was a busy year adapting to new circumstances. I am proud of my team who adjusted well and continued to deliver important services for the community.

All my family members are healthy and safe and we have celebrated with a beautiful Christmas together. This year was not filled with as many adventures but in someways I became more creative and looked for challenges to keep growing.

My photography once again gave me my creative balance and time to take my mind off things, to slow down and capture the moment. This year I discovered Macro photography and my local neighbourhood in a bid to stay creative during the shutdowns. This was demonstrated with my most liked image being a shot of the local Ivanhoe primary school. Thanks to those who purchased my prints and calendars or commissioned me to capture your event this year before the shutdowns.

Thank you to everyone who follows my photography journey on instagram and Facebook. Every 21.1k likes, 83 features and the comments were appreciated and encouraged me throughout the year. I have missed connecting with other photographers this year and look forward to catching up with members of the various groups I attend. I continued to be inspired by your work and thank you for your online company, friendship and shared knowledge. I am looking forward to more adventures in 2021. To finish off the year here are my top nine liked images from 2020. Happy New Year to you all and may 2021 be a safe and happy year for us all.
