This year the world as we know it has changed due to the COVID19 pandemic, whether it’s working from home instead of going to work, businesses of all sizes closing their doors, not going on holidays and not seeing family and friends. Our lives will not be the same for the for seeable future.
Our bustling city is a ghost town with millions of Melburnian's working from home or simply out of work. We are required to wear masks when we leave the house for the protection of ourselves and others. Kids are home from school and learning online and people have not been allowed to visit their loved ones in Aged Care.
Sadly George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A as part of a police arrest. This was the catalyst for protests across the world and the formation of the Black Lives Matter movement.
We struggled with unprecedented change to our lives, but at the same time demonstrated our resilience and creativity to keep moving forward.
It is a year that we will remember for many years to come.
